Furniture recycling steps:

1. Assessing whether furniture is recyclable

• Recyclable furniture: Furniture must be in good condition, in good condition, of standard size, with acceptable wear and tear, in good working order and with a full range of accessories
• Non-recyclable furniture: Furniture that is generally wall-mounted, custom-made cabinets, personalised, non-standard in size, damaged, stained, mouldy, of low recycling value or faded in colour will not be recycled

2. Call or WhatsApp in advance to provide details of the furniture to the organisation to facilitate assessment of the furniture and quotation, the information includes

• Collection Locations, Districts
• Whether the site has a car park and whether the car park is chargeable
• Do you need to take the stairs?
• or any special needs etc.
• After the assessment, someone will reply whether the furniture will be recycled and provide a quotation for recycling.

3. After accepting the quotation and confirming the collection date, the organization will have someone come to collect the goods.

4. Arrangements for collection will be confirmed and some collection companies will take up to one week to collect the goods.

2. Delighted Treasure [Part of service is charge and part of them is free]

We have our own fleet of vehicles to collect furniture, which will be handled by our staff for a fee or free of charge, depending on the location, quantity and quality of the goods. If you have purchased furniture, you can also collect the furniture together with the delivery.

3. Green Used Furniture [Free]

Green Used Furniture offers new and used furniture buying and selling, furniture storage, removal, cleaning and collection services, with direct lift access to the collection point.

A one-off transportation fee of $200 will be charged on Hong Kong Island such as Ap Lei Chau, Wong Chuk Hang, Tai Tam, Repulse Bay and Stanley. If the value of the furniture is lower, a transport fee will be charged and any unsuitable furniture such as damaged or faded furniture will be cleaned up as quoted.

This is a furniture and electrical appliance transfer scheme under the Aurora Project and staff will charge according to the quantity of furniture and the area.

5. Green Dot Home [Charge]

GDD's on-site collection service is applicable to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, excluding the outlying islands. A basic transportation allowance will be charged for each collection visit, e.g. $200 for Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Shatin, Ma On Shan, Tseung Kwan O, Tuen Mun, etc.; $300 per piece for bed frames, wardrobes, chests of drawers or any furniture over 3 feet in width that needs to be dismantled before removal; $50 per piece per floor for medium-sized furniture requiring 2 persons for removal, etc. [Service Charge Table]

Members of the public can also send their second-hand furniture to the warehouse themselves, but they need to email photos of the second-hand furniture to the organisation in advance.

7. Fifty Steps Studio [Free]

Fifty Steps Workshop offers a free on-site collection service for furniture and electrical appliances of the right specifications, while non-conforming items can also be collected for a fee.

Members of the public can also drop off their items at the warehouse and fill in a self-collection or door-to-door collection form.

Secondhand Fine offers a free on-site collection service for antiques, collectibles and suitable furniture and decorations, and quotes a cash price for the furniture or decorations.

9. Master Mattress [Charge]

The Bed Master offers a professional mattress recycling and repair service for mattresses that have suffered normal wear and tear, such as stained fabric, dented foam, loose springs, etc. The repaired mattress can be reused for another three to four years and the recycled mattress is sorted according to its condition.

All recoveries are subject to shipping charges and mattress repairs average $800.
